Brothers, while details are not being released at this time,

I am asking that we keep our speculation to minimum,

please be mindful that this could happen to any of us.

We have all went by signals turned to our conductor,

and said "what color was a signal?" and had that reassuring pause stating

Uh...Green ? when in doubt take the safer course of action.

slow down and verify that the next signal is a proceed indication.

In all cases,  it's better to be safe and have a conductor whine ,

then to be the next headline .

 A Former MOP's Advise


You do not have to sign any accident report to receive treatment for a injury or incident and don't let a officer of the UPRR tell you that you do! You do not have to fill out a accident report
while or during the course of treatment. The UPRR manager should not and can not be in the treatment room with you while you are receiving treatment. They can ask for a diagnosis from the doctor and the doctor can not give this information to them! However, how they get around this is they have a Company doctor by the name of Dr. Kim call the treating physican and get his diagnosis from the doctor that is treating you. If the doctor disappears from the treatment room due to a phone call from a UPRR doctor be aware. Document document and document! everything that is said not only from the treating doctor but the UPRR manager as well. The manager is receiving instructions from the Superintendant. They do not want it to be a reportable injury! This is what their bonus and performance rating is based on. I have been there
and done that. They can ask that a D&A test be given to you any time during the course of treatment or after and of course BINGO! positive can happen!  Any time you suspect anything wrong or out of the ordinary get your union representative involved immediately! Don't be afraid to get the FRA involved.
